Deep Clean vs. Standard Clean: How to Know Which One You Need
August 12, 2026 | Rocio Paniagua
The most common question I get before a first booking, answered so you can book the right service the first time.
Every week, someone asks me the same question before booking: do I need a deep clean, or is standard enough? It's the most common point of confusion I run into, so let's clear it up.
What a standard clean covers
A standard clean is what most homes need on a recurring basis. It covers our full 25-point checklist in every room, dusting, vacuuming, and mopping floors, sanitizing bathrooms, and wiping down the kitchen, and it's built to maintain a home that's already in good shape. If you're on a weekly, biweekly, or every-4-week schedule with us, standard cleans are what keep your home consistently fresh between visits.
What a deep clean covers
A deep clean goes further. It targets the buildup a regular routine doesn't reach: baseboards, window tracks, behind and under furniture, grime in grout lines, and buildup inside cabinets. I recommend starting there in a few situations: it's your first cleaning with us and the home hasn't had professional attention in a while, it's been several months since your last deep clean, you're getting ready for guests or a big event, or the house just needs a true reset.
A simple rule of thumb
If you can't remember the last time someone scrubbed your baseboards or cleaned inside your oven, start with a deep clean. From there, recurring standard cleanings will keep your home at that level, no need to deep clean every visit.
Not sure which one fits your home? Reach out and tell me a bit about your space. I'm happy to recommend the right starting point before you book. You can also see full details and pricing on our Deep Cleaning page.
